Today the cast of the next season of Survivor has been announced. Well, 16 of the 18 anyway. They held back the identity of the last two because they are previous players who are looking for a shot at redemption. It looks like that rumored Rob vs Russell season is going to take place after all. I was really hoping that this wasn't going to happen. They are recycling previous players way to much. Russell was great to watch the first time but in the long run he's a one trick pony. Rob, he's older, more mature and not the same arrogant asshole he was the first time he played. He was actually kind of lame in the heroes vs villains season. I don't want to see ANY of the previous players for atleast 4 or 5 more seasons and than do a new All-Stars season with a fresh batch of previous players. I'm also not looking forward to all the new product placement that will probably be shown this new season. The family reunion episode with the Sprint phone was overkill last season. If I heard Sprint one more time I was gonna go get T-Mobile out of spite.

My early favorites from this season are Ralph Kiser and Andrea Boehlke. Those are the only two big fans that got on this season. I always like to see the real fans of the show do well. That's why I want David Murphy to be voted out first because he said he didn't watch an episode of Survivor until a month before he went on. Jeff Probst did however mention that he had the highest I.Q. of any Survivor contestant thus far on the show, but he didn't say what the actual number was. We know it had to be over 140, because that was the I.Q. score of the previous record holder, "Danger" Dave Ball.

At first I thought " Oh great, those two are gonna go at it again ". But after some time to let the idea digest I'm not so against the idea of Rob and Russell coming back for a final battle. I don't see either one standing a chance of winning against a fresh batch of players but they'll definately keep it interesting to watch. I think Rob is a leader and if he can get momentum going for his tribe early on, he'll be fine till the merge, after that its gonna be tough for him. As for Russell, he's a one trick pony. Even the new players who have never watched Survivor until recently know Russell and how he plays the game. Even if he tries a kinder gentler approach this season, I just don't think they'll buy into his hustles. Without all those hidden immunity idols he magically finds, he's doomed early on. And anyone who alligns with him will be toast based on guilty by association. But like I said, if nothing else, them being there will spice up the rest of the cast and keep things good and crazy.. Rob and Amber are also going to be playing The Amazing Race again too. He just doesn't know when to stop !!
